Sanibel Island Sensational Market Updates

This is one of my favorite weekends on Sanibel Island and Captiva Island.

With the holidays just down the road, Sanibel Island and Captiva Island kick it off right with a two night Luminary festival.  Tonight is Sanibel's turn with the entire length of Periwinkle Way lined with luminaria.  It is breath-taking!  All the shops on Sanibel will be open with refreshments and deals - many are offering Luminary night specials.  It is fun for me because it really gets you into the holiday spirit - the decorations are great.

Tomorrow night is Captiva Island's night.  While smaller, it is more intimate and just as lovely.  The shops will be open as well and the refreshments flowing. The tree at Tween Waters is on and greeting all who come!  If you have the chance, maybe not this year, the first weekend in December is our luminary festival and it really shouldn't be missed!

Hi,

Captiva Island is another very special place on the Southwest coast of Florida.  Located just north of Sanibel Island, which is just west of Ft. Myers, Florida - the only ways to get to Captiva Island is via a causeway to Sanibel Island or by boat.

In my efforts to assist my clients and visitors to the wonders of Sanibel and Captiva Islands, I have started a video series.  I introduced the East end of Sanibel Island in my last one and this one is dedicated to the "Downtown" section of Captiva Island.  This is where most of the Restaurants and shops are located.  Take a look and let me know what you think.

You can check it out in my "Captiva" section Here, or view the video in YouTube Here.

You have to love Sanibel and Captiva Islands!

Hi,

It's November 2nd and oh, what a weekend and oh, what a start to the Season.  Halloween is a fun time on Sanibel Island and Captiva Island.  On Friday and Saturday there were at least 6 Halloween related fund raisers and parties.  Among them were the Island Paws "Howl-O-Ween Party with their pet costume contest and Yappy Hour, The Trunk or Treat at the Sanibel Community Church, The Fall Family Carnival at The Community House and, of course,  the Voodoo Island Party at 'Tween Waters Inn - just to name a few.

It is a great time as many of our seasonal residents return to Sanibel Island and Captiva Island so getting back together with friends is what we do.  From now through Easter the Islands will be hopping with many fund raisers for groups like CROW, SCCF, FISH, START, and PURRE.  Coming up we have the Cracker Festival for START - Solutions to Avoid Red Tide - November 6th and the Wines in the Wild to benefit SCCF - Sanibel - Captiva Conservation Foundation on November 14th just to name two.

This weekend also marked the start of the Sanibel Farmers Market held each Sunday from 8am - 1pm at Tahitian Gardens Plaza on Sanibel.  We went yesterday and it was fantastic!  The fresh produce, bread, cheese and fish were first rate as were the plants and other goodies!  Fun Fun Fun!

As you make your plans to come back to Sanibel Island and Captiva Island, be sure to check out what is going on on the islands when you visit!   Drop me an email if you want any suggestions!
