Wow! Thanksgiving is a week away and Christmas is just around the corner. The activities on Sanibel Island and Captiva Island really pick up this time of year. On the Friday after Thanksgiving (11/26) the season is official when the 'Tween Waters Inn tree is lit. An annual tradition for old and young alike it is magical to see the reflection of all the lights on the waters of the Gulf of Mexico.
The first weekend in December is the Annual Luminary festival. Friday the big night for Sanibel Island with candles lining Periwinkle way and all the merchants decked out. Saturday the big night on Captiva Island. This year the Captiva Island celebration will have the first annual "Golf Cart Parade." I think this will prove to be a very popular event and vying for "Best Golf Cart" will also mean bragging rights! For more information about the Captiva Events all through December, check out www.captivaholidayvillage.com
I hope to see you all here during the holidays!
