Sanibel Island's Government Website

If you have some spare time while clicking around the web, take some time to look over the great website put together by the Sanibel Island government. As you know our island has much to offer and we are always in motion as we discover more of what Sanibel has to do to maintain its surrounding natural environment.

You can quickly check out the City Charter, or City Codes. Or if you want something a bit less mundane, check out the island news page that will show you all our upcoming events that you can attend. From scholarship applications to building permit applications, you can go here and review the sites full list of City Forms.

One of my favorite links on the website are the videos of the "untold stories" of Sanibel and our surrounding areas. This is a four-video collection.

Part one: The Sanibel Legacy
Part two: Sanibel - The Untold Stories
Part three: After the Ferry
Part four: The Sanibel Causeway

Our island history is fun to explore. Before the causeway was built, Sanibel Island was accessed by ferry boat and it was a very different place.

Of course our environment and its preservation is an important part of what Sanibel has to offer our visitors and residents. There is a great section on the Sanibel website with environmental updates and links - you can check it out Here.

You can watch a slideshow about native vegetation on Sanibel, or you can download and save the "environmental reference handbook," which has just about everything you need to know to landscape your property while staying natural.

Lots of people come to our islands with fishing on their minds! We have it all - back bay fishing, deep water fishing, fishing from the beach or fishing from a dock. You can rent a boat, hire a guide or just rent your fishing pole!

Fishing is a fantastic way to just relax and watch the world go by. This short video from the Sanibel website tells you what you need to know to get started and to keep within our local fishing rules and regulations.

Check out the video to the right...

Even though this is a great website for exploring Sanibel Island, I still think the BEST website is mine. You can Click Here to start your search for the perfect island property! If you live on Sanibel and you are thinking of listing - Contact Me! I have a well thought-out plan to market island properties and as a long-time island resident I know our island neighborhoods, condos and homesites. I have access to all listed properties and I am looking forward to hearing from you!
