 Preparing to Sell Island Property 

The goal of most homeowners when selling their property is to get the maximum return in the shortest time.  Sellers can do a number of things beforehand that will increase the property's appeal and facilitate the sale.

Check the major structure and systems of your property.  Roofs, Air Conditioners, Electrical and Plumbing systems are all big, expensive items and can kill a deal if there are any issues found during an inspection.  Be pro-active, inspect before you list!

Have a record of any repairs done.  Buyers often request proof of work done so it pays to have it available

Have warranties on major items handy or consider purchasing a home warranty that will transfer to the new owner.

Know the operating expenses of your home or condo.  What does it cost to live here?  Buyers want to know.

Look at your property with a critical eye.  "Curb appeal" is real and it makes a difference.  Fresh plants, mulch and trimming go a long way to making the property more appealing.

Consider fresh paint and carpet cleaning.  These low-budget solutions make a big difference in how Buyers remember your property.
